Coexistence Walks
Guided tours of Haifa
Beit-Hagefen, the Arab Jewish Centre in
Haifa, is conducting guided tours to
promote acquaintance with the human and
cultural mosaic of Haifa. The tours
include the coexistence walks in Wadi
Nisnas as well as additional unique
sites in the city.
Educational messages of peace,
pluralism, tolerance, cooperation,
neighborliness and joint hope for a
better future, are conveyed through the
tours .
The tours are conducted by Beit-Hagefen
guides in
Hebrew, Arabic, English, French,
Spanish, Russian and other
languages. These tours take place
everyday of the week during .morning,
afternoon and evening hours.

between Jews and Arabs, good neighbourly
relations and coexistence among
religions, communities and residents
Coexistence walks in Wadi Nisnas
Each year Beit-Hagefen produces and
organizes the Holiday of Holidays
Festival – Hanukah-
Christmas-Ramadan - focusing on guided
tours of art galleries and alleys of the
Wadi Nisnas neighborhood.
The Art Works route includes
works of art by dozens of Jewish and
Arab artists, from all over the country,
exhibiting installations, paintings,
stone and iron sculptures, murals and
digital prints. The theme of the art
works route changes each year, some
previous examples include: “Matrimony”,
“Mediterranean”, “Utopia” and
“Play-Ground”.
In 2005-2006, “Black Coffee” is
the theme of this route.
The Poetry Path route includes
poetry excerpts by Arab and Jewish
poets, translated into both Hebrew and
Arabic, printed on plaques and exhibited
along the route connecting the German
Colony to the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood.
In 2005 – 2006 the theme of the Poetry
Path is“Such People” and the walk
is named after Ehud Manor.

During the tour the visitors will
experience the unique human aspect of
the Wadi: residents, merchants, a
colorful Middle Eastern market and food,
coffee houses and restaurants etc. This
modular tour fits all age groups and
lasts approximately two hours

Baha'i
Gardens:
Participants have the choice of going
down the steps of these gardens in
either the upper terrace tour or the
lower terrace tour. Each tour includes a
comprehensive explanation of the
gardens, the Baha'i institutions and the
Baha’i Faith.
Stella Maris Monastery, the
Cave of Prophet
Elijah, the
Achmadim Mosque,
the German
Colony,
downtown Haifa as well as old Haifa
- are also additional sites
