Beit-Hagefen Theater

Established in 1968. Most of Israeli Arab actors started their theatrical careers at the Beit-Hagefen theater.

Existing Repertoire: 12 shows for children and youth. An average of 350 performances per year in Arab villages in Israel. Beit-Hagefen Theater is a member of the “Instituto Internacional Del Teatro Del Mediterranean”.

          Performances of “Jabber's Head” at the 1991 “Israel the New Generation” Festival in Brooklyn Academy of Music BAM New York.

          Establishment of the 1992 First Arabic Monodrama Festival in Israel.

          30 performances for children, youth and adults in the Palestinian Authority in Gaza - 1994. In Jeneen District - 1995

          Performance of the show “Hamdo and Son” at the 1995 “Middle East the Art of Peace” Festival in Brussels

          First award at the Acre Festival 1996 for the show “Harvest Nights”.

          Participation in the 1997 Palestinian Spring Festival in Strasbourg and in Paris.  

          Israeli-Jordanian-Palestinian co-production El-Bab-El-Ali financed by the European Commission.

          Performances of the show “El-Bab-El-Ali” in Jordan 1998 and 14 performances in Israel, of the Jordanian Hisham Yanis Theater, hosted by Beit-Hagefen

          Moroccan Minister of Culture award at the Meknes Moroccan Festival 2001. Performances of the shows “The Elephant and the Trousers” and “Makamat”(written & directed by Tayeb Saddiki) in Morocco with the financial support of the European Commission 2001-2003.

          Performances of the show “Aladdin” in Madrid Festival 2003.

          Performances of the show "Makamat" in Hanover Germany 2004.

          Performances of the show “Aladdin” in Marseilles France 2005.
