Alkarma Theater is the oldest Arab theater in Israel.
The theater was inaugurated forty years ago as part of Beit HaGefen, and throughout the years had put on plays for all ages, particularly children and youth.
Over the years the theater won several awards at various festivals, and it functions as a hotbed for the most prominent Arab theater actors in Israel, many of whom started at Alkarma Theater.
The theater offers a rich and diverse repertoire and ascribes great importance to the production of plays by diverse creators – Jews and Arabs living in Israel, creators from all around the Arab world alongside classic theater plays.
Alkarma Theater acts to bring the world of theater to the general Arab public in Israel and serve as an intercultural bridge to the Israeli Jewish population.
